basketball JONES

PLAYS OF THE WEEK:

1) Bobyk dribbling at the three point line, throws up the ball-and Gibson flying out of nowhere slams it down! OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH! Gibson with the strut and the body slam with Bobyk! oh my, the Cyclones look set to win the finals.

2) Binny driving, and finishing! BIG TIME with the dunk over Rack! Ouch, looks like Rack got hit on that one!

3)Jules drives and slams it down over Rack, just like Binny did to him a game before!

4)Rack driving, points, and then the circus shot!

5) Binny, driving and finishing with a huge dunk and holds onto the rim!

6) KL driving the lane, spin move, around the back pass, Mroz with the turnaround fadeaway it doesn't get much prettier than that!

7) Matt Hogg with the braided hair, with the ball, drives and dunks it over Megahy! Oh my, he just posterized him!

8) Bacher for threeeeeeeeeeee! GOT IT! SWISH!

9) Gibson driving again, and finishes with the scissor dunk! OH MY, hes really trying to make the highlight reel.

10) Butler drives and finishes with the huge reverse slam!

Honourable Mention: The two players that started it all, Leschinsky and Racknor both played their final games this week.

2003 CCB FINALS!

This will be a finals to remember I gaurantee it. It is certainly a mismatched finals, but these teams that met in the finals last year are both very competitive. I'm not going to blabber on, everyone knows who the big names are in this matchup but no one knows how theyll matchup. My best guess...

If the Cyclones don't play zone then Hogger and Gibson both take Jules, while Bobyk covers the other perimeter players.

For the Falcons, Jules will stay parked downlow while his other perimeter players will cover Gibson and Bobyk.

Other things to say: High scoring for sure, lost of dunks, nice pass plays, threes, and tempers flaring for sure. The Falcons look to get revenge for their awful season defeat, and the Cyclones look to get revenge for losing in last year's finals.

FORMER PALYERS OF THE WEEK:

PLAYERS OF THE WEEK FOR FINAL WEEK

MATT GIBSON was without a doubt the uncontested leader on the court today as he had a triple double as he knocked down 8 clutch threes, had 10 rebounds, and 10 assists, but most importantly controlled the tempo of the game.

MATT HOGG and ANDREW RACKNOR brought the energy to the floor in various ways to both helo motivate their team to a victory. Final player is yet to be determined. ZACK BACHER, it was a losing effort but Bacher poured in 11 points, 5 assists, and 3 steals leading up to being named winner of the Mitch Wilde Award.

PRE-G
(2ND CROSSOVER WEEK)
JOE HARWOOD Jo-Jo has played impressively in the last week, his scoring and assists have improved drastically, his sportsmanship has helped the team even through losses. KARL LESCHINSKY AND MARTIN MROZ ok, let's get it straight, yah they didn;t actually WIN a game all week, but both had great games, and game 3 point short of upsetting the 1st place Cyclones and 1 point short of beating the 3rd Place Rage, so to put it optimistically it wasn;t a wasted week.

(First Crossover Week) BEN WHITE, ALFREDO GARCIA

Ben and Alfredo re-directed the troubled Titans into a position where they may be able to clinch the 4th place spot afterall. Binny had a huge rebounding and scoring performace, and Alfredo chipped in points as well as set record highs for assists.

A DIVISION

MIKE LIEBREGTS

Mike Liebregts posted two back to back double doubles, set new career highs, and was solid all around, setting a great effiency rating, and helping the Falcons rise to the #1 spot in the CCB.

B DIVISION

ANDREW RACKNOR AND JOSH BOBYK

Andrew Racknor without the help of his two fellow captains rose to the occassion as he lead the young Rage to an incredible 1 wina dn 1 tie record today, setting all sorts of high scoring performaces as well as performing incredibely on the defensive end, and snatching 38 rebounds on the day. Obviously this is getting the message across Rack is Back!

Josh Bobyk got his team going today, even without the leadership and scoring of Matt Gibson he managed to inspire his team to step it up a notch as the Cyclones tied the Falcons for the leagues best record, and only a week after breaking 2 CCB records for threes he tied the consecutive threes made record twice in a game, and shattered his old record of total threes made with 13.

MARTIN MROZ AND JOSH BOBYK

Martin had an impressive first game for the Scorpions full of scoring and rebounds, and Josh Bobyk went on a three spree nailing down endless threes to set two three point records.

Rack had 61 points on day 2
